Enjoy Eau Claire
One Local's Everyday Adventures

I've lived in Eau Claire for years now. Lived here, worked here, raised my family here. Thing is, I also keep a mental list of my favorite spots. Favorite pizza place, favorite BBQ, favorite egg rolls -- and that's just the start of the food! (WARNING: I love to eat.)

Eau Claire News -- "A Lot of Bull"

Great parks -- Eau Claire has'em. Gorgeous waterways -- Yep, that, too. Music festivals. Great restaurants. My frustration was trying to find all these things in one spot. Well, no more. Here you'll have everything you need for you and your family. Lined up. In a row.

Nestled in the Chippewa Valley, Eau Claire, WI has a lot to offer. In this end of the country, we've got fish fry's, deep fried cheese curds, and pickled fish. You'll also find Asian, Mexican, and Italian restaurants.

When the southern portions of the country are sweltering in the heat, Wisconsin is mostly in the 80's. When other regions are rainy, we've got snowy hills (and streets). Autumn brings cooler times, apple cider, and gorgeous drives in the country.

Spring means we flock outside and throw ourselves into gardening. We roll our windows down and wear shorts before any sane person would recommend.

You'll find one of the largest Hmong populations in the nation here. We also have a growing Mexican community -- and our diversity continues to grow.

Originally, this area was home to the Ojibwa (Chippewa) and the Sioux nations. Later, many Norwegians and Germans settled here. You may get your fill of Ole and Lena jokes. ;)

Whitetail deer hunting is a long standing tradition in Wisconsin. If you get a chance to try venison -- go for it. Some of us even hunt turkey, squirrel, or partridge. My dad loves ice fishing.

Snowmobiling, skating, and sledding are our alternative to treadmills and stair climbers. Try a ball game or bike some trails. You'll soon find that we're a little small town, a little big city. So, no matter what you're like, there's things here to enjoy.

Your kids will love the festivals. When you discover our museums you'll really appreciate our history. I'll be checking out and listing all the favorites, so your everyday adventures can be easy to find.

The medical community thrives here. Farming gives us some of the best sweet corn in the country. In recent years, the design and arts community has steadily grown. We've got some great boutiques and antique shops, too. In short, there's a little bit of everything.

The University of Eau Claire and the Chippewa Valley Technical College offer a variety of educational opportunities. In fact, the technical college has multiple campuses.

The city of Eau Claire, WI is where I have lived, worked, and played for a long time. Stick around, and enjoy the adventures.
