I like a good Chinese buffet, and Asia Palace is on my list of good ones. Jan Paul and I stopped there for a late lunch. It's huge! It didn't look quite that big from the outside.
If you like the Chinese Buffet in Chippewa Falls, you'll like this one. Clean, contemporary decor -- not overly fancy, but nice. The walls are painted butter-cream and they have a black chair rail all around.
The buffets have lighting behind green panels, so they all glow green. For some reason, I was completely fascinated by that. I guess just because it was different.
It took a few minutes to be seated because there were a lot of people at the register. Once we were seated, we had our drinks quickly served. We then took our tour at the buffet.
Wow, this is a large buffet! Salad bar, soups (my favorite, hot and sour soup!), spring rolls, and plenty of seafood. In fact, there was shrimp, mussels, salmon, and before we left, they also had crab legs.
The salmon was nicely done. If you like seafood (like I do), you know that it can be tricky. Seafood should not be overdone or dried out -- and it's easy to do both. The Asian Palace gets a thumbs up for their salmon.
Jan Paul likes the Mongolian beef here. It's easy to try a lot of new things when there's so much to choose from. I tried the hot & spicy chicken, some noodles, the soup ... a little bit of a lot of things.
The Asia Palace does not accept checks, but they do take credit cards. They've got so much food in there that I'm sure you'll find something you like.
If you're on the West Side, congrats! The best egg rolls in Eau Claire are found on the West Side.
