I've got a love/hate relationship with Dell's Architectural Antiques. I love the pieces of homes -- the windows and doors, the iron floor grates, the cabinets and faucet handles -- all of that. I hate that they're only open Friday and Saturday.

It's doubtful that you'll 'stumble' upon Dell's. They're tucked on a quiet street in a residential neighborhood. This always makes it a bit more of a delight when you do find it.

Yes, you can wander through the building searching for antique pieces to remodel your historic home. Consider, though, reusing some of these pieces for a contemporary home. Vintage flooring or doors will give your home character -- no matter what style you're looking for.

You may find that with a little thought, you can remake some of the bits into new and interesting items. Make a door into a table top. Hang a stained glass window in the garden. Get creative with it.

Over all, Dell's Architectural Antiques is a treasure hunt waiting to happen. There's been many times that I find myself facing a unique item. Church pews, fireplace surrounds, you won't know what you'll find until you look.
