Eau Claire Parks

Eau Claire parks are peaceful retreats, hubs of activity, and a great place to reconnect. Each one has it's own personality.

Trails, sports, festivals, playgrounds, ice rinks -- there's something to do year round. Grab your family and go!

Try biking or walking. Probably the most fun way to get in shape, plus you can take the kids. Rent a bike or bring your own. Here's the map I would use. You could bike all over the city this summer.

Going boating? There are boat landings at Carson Park, Riverview Park, Mt. Simon, and behind Hobbs Ice Center. Be aware, though, there's no internal combustion engines allowed on Half Moon Lake (Carson Park).

  • Carson Park -- is surrounded by Half Moon Lake. Easily located off of Menomonie Street near the Dairy Queen, you'll find plenty to do. Playgrounds, fishing, trails, sports fields, and museums -- try something new.
  • Phoenix Park -- is located in beautiful downtown Eau Claire, WI. It's the summer home of the local Farmer's Market. The Chippewa River State Trail runs through it, too. Perfect for a lunch stroll.
  • Owen Park -- is within walking distance of the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. Keep your eye on this park. It's got little fests happening all the time.
  • Putnam Park State Natural Area -- Eau Claire's most secret park! Gorgeous walking paths take you past native plant habitats. It's almost magical. Love plants or quiet walks? Visit this special park.
  • Mount Simon Park -- I love Mt Simon for its reclusive ness, its views, and its Frisbee golf course. Oh, ahem, disc golf. You know what I mean.
  • Rod and Gun Park -- Neighbor to Carson Park, the Rod and Gun park has a pavilion nestled in the trees. Tiny creeks meander through it.
  • Riverview Park -- Long-time favorite for swimmers, Riverview park has a long shoreline. This brings everybody closer to the water for your picnic. I, personally, love that you can rent a pavilion on an island. How fun!
  • Fairfax Park -- This park hosts the swimming pool! Something to keep in mind over the summer, eh? It's also got some sports fields and play equipment. Fun for everyone!
  • Southeast Community Park -- Your furry friend can run free here. Bring your friendly dog to play at the Dog Park.

Eau Claire parks are located all over Eau Claire. If you plan to go with the kids, you might want to make it an event. Bring sandwiches. Load up the dog.

Besides these parks, there's tons of tiny community parks and playgrounds. Easy to get to, inexpensive, and fun. Can't get much better than that. Check out our Eau Claire parks today.
