Eau Claire, Wisconsin Tourism
Camping, Fishing, Festivals, Music Fests

Wisconsin tourism attracts visitors year-round. In the summer, our temps hover in the 80's when the rest of the country is sweltering. In the fall, we've got pumpkins and apple orchards to tempt your taste buds. In the winter, snowfall makes Christmas magical.

Sports

If you're into sports, you might find Wisconsin tourism caters to you. From hockey to hiking, we've got it covered. To top it off, we've got the most beautiful woods and parks, and trails. Check it out!

Sportsmen (and sportswomen) love the traditional deer hunt. You might also find turkey hunting and fishing to be well-loved pastimes. Ice fishing? Yep. Winter-caught fish taste great.

Camping

Camping in Wisconsin is excellent. Savor the Great Northwoods. Spend time disconnected from electronics that buzz and ring. Find a cabin or pitch a tent. There's campsites all over.

If you are camping, you might float down the river on an inner tube. Make sure you put on the sunscreen, though. Relax away the afternoon.

Art

In the past few years, our artistic community has grown. Wood carvers craft bears and eagles out of tree trunks. Potters craft everything from bird baths to flower vases. Glass artists and jewelry artists reveal their sparkling wares at the art fests.

I love going to the theater. Eau Claire has the State Theater downtown. Look for music shows, musicals, and plays. (I loved My Fair Lady).

Food

Throughout the U.S., food choices change. In Wisconsin, cheese curds are deep fried -- the best ones are dipped in beer batter, too. If you haven't tried Wisconsin cheese, you're missing out.

Grilling out? You'll find some great picnic food here! From bratwurst to steak, we love it grilled. Try some local brews while you're at it. Now you've got a taste of Wisconsin.

Fests

Music festivals are a big draw in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Country Jam, Country Fest, and Rock Fest bring top artists and thousands of people out to enjoy great music. Camp near the fest (an event in itself). You might also try a local hotel that shuttles you right to the gates.

Attractions

Kids need to burn off some energy? You might try attractions like Action City or the water park. Go to a drive-in movie. Take a trip to some great parks, natural attractions, and museums. Search them out.

Eau Claire is approx. 90 miles to Minneapolis. It's about 126 miles to Wisconsin Dells. We're a great location for any number of things. Centrally located, you could stay the entire summer (or winter) and have plenty to do. Uncover the natural beauty of Wisconsin tourism.
