The West Side now has the Golden Dragon. Tucked next to Cancun Mexican restaurant in the Mega Foods mall, you'll have plenty of parking. I am addicted to their egg rolls.

I recently stopped by there at the end of a busy afternoon. The curtains were drawn shut, but the atmosphere of a clean cafeteria was still bright. Someone had decorated the walls above the oak chair rail with wallpaper -- white with red accents. Above me the red lanterns match the seats of the chairs.

Hungry, I strode up to the ordering counter and was struck temporarily mute. There is so much to choose from that I forgot what I wanted. Their lunch menu has 35 items on it under $5, plus appetizers.

Because I love egg rolls, I ordered one with Chicken Broccoli (#30). A soda to go with that, and I was set.

Chicken Broccoli was a good selection. It was hot and the chicken was tender. Now for a pleasant surprise,... the egg roll was delicious! The mark of a truly good egg roll -- I had no need for soy sauce. There were tiny bits of pork rolled up with the cabbage -- all to a tasty, crunchy perfection.

I know at this point that if I had company that day, the chatter would have come to a complete halt alternating with a few m-m-m noises.

The Hot and Sour soup is extra spicy here. This is another favorite food of mine. They really bring on the heat.

If you're on a date and want someplace romantic, you might go somewhere else. If you are looking for a good place for lunch or take out, try Golden Dragon.
