Just Local Food is a small grocery on a hard-to-get-to corner. Every time I drove by, I was intrigued, so one day I pulled in.

Inside this small store is a cornucopia of local foods. You probably never realized that there's so many. I didn't.

Towards the front was fresh produce. You realize that when I walked in, it was February? I didn't ask where they got it -- but it looked good to me. Maybe someone has a grow lamp.

Local breads -- I could come here often just for that. Plenty of dried goods like grains. Plenty of organic food. I wasn't looking for gluten-free, but did notice gluten-free products.

I think the term is 'foodie'. If you love food, try shopping at Just Local Foods. I don't know if I am a foodie, but I grabbed some hummus made in Colfax and a day old baguette for toasting.

Oh, and there wasn't just food there, either. Special soaps and bath products can be found. Local beers -- you can buy them by the bottle to have your own beer tasting.

A great gift basket could be created at this store. Beer, cheese, bread, meat -- it's easy to be creative when you've got products this great.

Just Local Foods -- it might be hard to shop here exclusively. Small, locally-made quality items are worth more. Nevertheless, stop in sometime. I think it will surprise you.
