Mike's Smokehouse should come with a warning -- their ribs are addictively good. Sloppy, too.

Whenever we go to Mike's, my husband has to decide only one thing -- just which is bigger, the rib plate or the dinner?

I knew when our son and I stopped, I'd have to bring some home. Jan Paul would never forgive me if I forgot.

We walked up to the counter to order. Daryk chose a rib basket. No surprise, our family loves the ribs here.

I decided on the fish basket, and we sat down in a booth. The decor is rustic -- tons of wood, huge stone fireplace, western decor and photos.

The atmosphere is definitely casual. If you're not in a booth, you've got picnic tables.

All talking stopped when the food was brought out. The fries were awesome and the fish was hot and crispy. I'm going to have to go back, though -- cause the ribs are calling me.

I love the Texas Toast and the baked beans. If you order a baked potato, watch out. They're huge.

If there is a problem with this restaurant, it's the danger of overeating. Also, if you're really not looking to walk up to a counter to order, it's not for you. Many times I've stopped here only to see a huge line of people out the door.

You can call ahead for take-out orders -- and then you can use the drive-up. Don't just pull up expecting to order a quick lunch, though. It's only for call ahead take out.

When I got home, it was all smiles. That's what happens when you bring something that smells this good.
