Every once in a while, I'm surprised. The Purple Petunia Eau Claire surprised me yesterday. It happened like this...

I was on my way to coffee downtown when I noticed some crazy, metal flowers on the sidewalk outside. Easily distracted, I wandered through the front door of this little shop.

There I found a small selection of jewelry. Some modern, some eclectic or traditional -- very sparkly. Fun, oversized rings had expandable bands (great if you're hard to fit). I really love the bracelets, too -- and it was all really well-priced.

Speaking of sparkle, they've got shoe clips! Ever wish your plain pumps would go the extra mile? Here you go. Clip these babies on your toes and go. I thought clips were 'old-fashioned only', but The Purple Petunia even has clips with zipper accents on them.

They've also got convertible flip flops. Yep. This is in the 'What Will They Think of Next' category. You can buy one set of sandals or flip flops and multiples of the straps -- changing it out with your outfit. Easy!

A nice selection of cards are near the door. You'll even see these sweet little notepads that are great to pop in your purse. They come with sparkly bits on the cover of the little 'book' that closes with a magnet. No more scrambling for paper to write a quick note on.

Shoes, jewelry, scarves, shirts --- Including Wisconsin sweatshirts. Oh, don't forget the felted purses! I love it when a gift shop finds the unique. If you've got to be different, I wonder if this would do it. Personally, I love purses. Kinda like shoes -- they always fit.

Check out the paper bead necklaces from Africa. They're awesome. This feels like a 'Go Green' trend. Super awesome to wear with blue jeans and a t-shirt.

The Purple Petunia of Eau Claire can be found downtown. The owners, Daniel and Lynn are super nice. Walk in for a little shopping. Find something fun to take home.
