When I heard that Dragonetti's had opened Taverna Grill, my ears perked. So, when Marina and I were shopping today, I persuaded her that this was the place to go. I was right.

The interior was well lit with the huge windows. Somehow the decor was a mix of coffee shop and sports bar -- blonde wood, contemporary art, muted, clean colors and about 5 flat screen tv's.
We sat at a tall table by the door and soon had a cheerful banter with one of the servers. When you get wait staff this happy and friendly -- keep them. You just can't make that happen by accident.
The menu was surprisingly affordable. All of the entrees were between $8 and $10. The drinks were over $2, but there were free refills, so not such a big deal.
We both gave in without much temptation -- I ordered cheese curds and she ordered mozzerella sticks. I'll vouch for the cheese curds. I can't believe at ate the whole thing. Honestly.
My entree was chicken mozzerella and it was surprising. Chicken breast under fresh mozzerella and over red sauce and spaghetti. It also came with ultra soft garlic bread. Yum.
The thing that surprised me was the red sauce. So many times it's too sweet or boring. I should have known, though. Drag's has been in the pasta business for many years. Their red sauce kicks. Love it.
Their menu has good variety: flat bread pizza, pasta, paninis, appetizers. I tried the eggplant sandwich (first time for eggplant!) and I liked that, too. Love going out with friends who share. :)
All in all, this turned out to be the perfect spot to stop while shopping. (Say that 3 times fast). I'd definitely go here again -- shopping lunch, business lunch, casual date. If I lived nearby, this would be the place I'd go on any given evening. Way to go, Taverna Grill.
