The Livery, Eau Claire RestaurantMy sweetheart took me to The Livery one weekday afternoon. I was already prejudiced for it because it's a refurbished old building. When I walked in and saw how well the interior decor was done, they had me. I love good design. The Livery
The exposed brick on the walls, the pressed tin panels on the bar, did they read my mind? Earthy, urban, with a warm vibe that I loved. It might claim to be a saloon, but the parts I liked felt distinctly non-saloon-like. (Is that a word?) Jan Paul and I were kinda charged to try the food, so we made a pact. We ordered two different things and shared. Can I hear it for cooperation? :) I ordered the jerked chicken. I honestly don't know if it was done correctly, since I've never had it before. Didn't really matter, though, it was great. Really juicy, the flavor was good. (Part of me wanted it spicy, too.) We both appreciated sneaking in there on a weekday since we love quiet restaurants. I do know that the last time we drove by on a Saturday night, it was anything but quiet outside. The Livery offers a fish fry, which might have to be our next excuse to come here. Gorgeous atmosphere. Great food selection and two thumbs up for offering local brews.
